Spending time in nature tends to helps us feel calmer, less stressed and more grounded, however it's impact actually runs deeper than that according to a recent article by Earth.com.
A major international study involving more than 50,000 people across 58 countries suggests that time in nature may actually change how we see ourselves.
Researchers found that people who spend more time in natural environments tend to be kinder to themselves, appreciate their bodies more and experience greater satisfaction with life.
This might help explain why so many of us return from a walk by the sea, a day in the park or an afternoon in the garden feeling different in ways that are hard to describe.
Nature doesn't just provide an escape from life. It may help us step outside the noise, reconnect with ourselves and gain a healthier perspective on who we are.
